Chinese IWOM Landscape by CIC Data
CIC Data today released Its Q3 white paper, The Internet is THE Community”: IWOM White Paper Series on Internet Word of Mouth (IWOM) Development in China. The white paper covers four topics, the first two topics, i.e. “The Chinese IWOM Landscape” (English version, Chinese version) and “Alternative Ways to Measure Internet Community Dynamics” (English version, Chinese version), have been published.
The first topic gives an overview of the social media landscape in China, discusses BBS, IM, blogs, Q&A sites, SNS and video sharing sites in China, and provides various cases for them. It is a good start for you to understand social media and Internet word of mouth in China.
Two days ago, Sam Flemming, founder and CEO of CIC Data, had an interview with me on China’s social media during Ad:tech Shanghai, it seemed that we both agreed that BBS and SNS hybrid might evolve into an important type of social media in China. The interview will be online later, and I will share my slides on Ad:tech tomorrow.
