Blogbus Introduces Blog Import Feature

Blogbus blogs importBlogbus, a blog hosting service provider in China, introduced a new blogs import feature last week. Now you can import your previous blog posts to Blogbus, from 7 major Chinese blogging service providers(BSPs), i.e. Blogcn, Bokee, Sina Blog, Hexun Blog, Netease Blog, Donews Blog and Tianya Blog.

The import function does not require your account information, then it is not necessary for you to be the real blogger, in fact, you can import any blogger’s posts from those BSPs.

Most of China’s BSPs don’t provide post export function, so it is not easy for bloggers to change service providers. Blogbus’ this new feature changes the game. So far, all those BSPs have not reacted and taken any measures for this challenge. But I believe it will have long term effects on the competition among China’s blogging service players.

My guess is this feature may not create much stir. The argument is that form influential bloggers, they have to think about their established publicity based on currend providers and don’t want potential audience to be frustrated by following old links to their abandoned yard. However for common Chinese diary-bloggers, it cost little for them to migarate, but these people are also less provider sensitive, so why shall they bother to move in the first place.

Nevertheless, the feature itself is nice.
