Qihoo Helps BBS To Build Own Search Engine

Qihoo, China’s BBS search engine and aggregator recently invested by Sequoia, launches a service called “Spider Project(蜘蛛计划)”, which helps BBS to build and improve their own search function based on Qihoo’s search engine.

BBS webmasters can apply for the project to let Qihoo crawlers to index their BBS, and got a piece of customizable Javascript to build search engine for the BBS. Webmasters can also customized the search results page to make it consistent with the design style of the BBS, such as adding logo, changing UI or webpage design.

Besides that, Spider project will introduce revenue generating plan later to let webmasters to earn income from the search. No details on this revenue plan is disclosed, is it like Google Adword?
