Blogcn partner with Founder to provide on-demand printing service for bloggers: Founder, the key solution provider for Chinese printing industry, will provide on-demand printing and delivery service(博文e印) for bloggers of Blogcn. But I think Founder should develop a tools and offer on-demand printing services to all Chinese bloggers rather than just to users of Blogcn.
Lingtu got USD 30 million funding: Lingtu, a Chinese digital mapping and location-based services provider, announced a funding of USD 30 million from Gobi Partners, Oak Investment Partners, Miven Venture Partners, Alliance Bernstein, Georgian Pine Investments and bScope Partners. Baidu launches kids channel: Baidu Shaoer channel (Shaoer is Chinese pinyin for kids) is online today, which provide specialized search function for kids, kids’ website directory and specialized Baidu Zhidao(similar to Yahoo Answer) function. Besides it, Baidu partners with library of Peking University to expand search service to books. Is it a preparation for Baidu book search?
Sequoia Capital invested in two startups: After investment in Qihoo and Dianping, Sequoia Capital made two more investment in China recently, a 4 million US dollar investment in 51.com, a Chinese social networking site and 7.5 million US dollar investment in Greatdreams Cartoon, a cartoon producer. And it is said that Sequoia will soon invest in Discuz!, an online community solution provider, and Tianya Club, one of the most popular BBS in China.
Two more classified sites: 263.com used to be a website who want to be a portal site before bubble time, and then focused more on online communication and VoIP service. But now, it changed the front page to classified service. Mop also launched a site named Renren, which is also engaged in local news and classified service.
