SubscribeaBitCool: Building Free WiFi Community In China
aBitCool is a company who intends to build a WiFi sharing community in China, just as what FON does in many other countries.(via Andy) aBitCool is a newly launched service by 21vianet(世纪互联), an IDC service provider and internet service provider(ISP).
aBitCool provides identical service as FON. Its registered users can join the WiFi sharing community by sharing their own excess WiFi bandwidth to enjoy free WiFi access around the country. As FON, you need to install a software for your router first to manage the bandwidth sharing, and the compatible router models are also limited to Linksys WRT54G/GS. In other words, aBitCool is exactly a FON in China.
It is hard to find free WiFi hotspot in China, and there is no companies as Google or Yahoo who plans to provide free WiFi service in any city or around the country. In fact, in FON, there are already users to share hotspots in China. It would be interesting to see the development of such WiFi sharing communities in China.

Actually, FON is not from USA. It’s actually from Spain in Europe
