Second Thought About New Blogbus

Yesterday, I wrote a post on Blogbus’s new version, and I thought Blogbus’s newly introduced classified feature (博贴) is a distraction from their core business. But after learning more details of it, my opinion changed.

One of the problems of online free classifieds service is lack of trust between users, the culture of trust is the key success factor of Craigslist. Since classifieds published in Blogbus by users are also posted in users’ blog, it is possible for you to learn more information about the blogger who publish the classified by reading his blog, then you can better judge the classifieds. So blogs help Blogbus’s members to build up trust and facilitate its classified service. That’s a key difference between Blogbus and other classifieds sites.

All the classified published in Blogbus will also show in Kijiji, a eBay company focused on classified business. I think that’s a win-win cooperation for both of them. And I’m looking forward for further cooperation between them, such as search classifieds in Kijiji from Blogbus. There is one thing puzzled me, why I can not choose to publish a blog post as a classified in my blog’s control panel.

In a word, I changed my mind, Blogbus’s classifieds service has its unique strength, that’s his blog service, it helps to build up trust between members, a critical factor for success of classifieds business.
