- iAsk Adds Premium Database Search Service: iAsk, search engine by Sina, partnered with Souku.com.cn to launch a new premium search service. Users can search various business information, such as statistics data, research reports, technical documents, patent information and so on. Any users can search and read the abstract of the document before pay for it. The charge ranges from less than one Yuan to several Yuan per result.
- Yahoo China Relaunch a Search Portal: Yahoo China relaunched a search only portal, Yahoo.cn. After Alibaba acquired Yahoo China, Jack Ma, CEO of Alibaba stopped the service of Yisou.com, a search-only portal of Yahoo China. But for less than one year later, Yahoo China resumed their strategy for China’s search market.
- Google To Partner With China.com: Google China will partner with China.com to provide search service. Besides, Google is also a service provider for Soso, a search-only portal by QQ.com.
- Baidu Law Search Service: Baidu partnered with ChinaLawInfo to introduce a law search service for users to search laws and regulation and related information.
- MyQihoo Helps to Monitor Social Media: Qihoo, China’s BBS and blog search engine, launched a new service MyQihoo. It allows users to subscribe keyword search results from news, blogs and BBS, which is a useful tool for PR person to monitor consumers’ voice in those social media.
