Who Are Top Bloggers In Taiwan?

Blog LookWhile Technorati think Xu Jinglei is the top Chinese blogger based on back links to her blog, and many online rss readers, such as Zhuaxia, regard Keso as most popular blogger based on its rss subscription statistics, some bloggers in Taiwan is working on a more complicated benchmark to evaluate who are top bloggers in Taiwan.

The project called Blog Look (部落格观察) will rate a blog based on several factors, such as the number of pages indexed by Google, number of backlinks by Google, Yahoo and Google Blogsearch, ranks in Technorati, Blog Influence number, subscription data in Bloglines, how many del.icio.us bookmarking on the URL and etc. The detailed algorithm can be found here(in Traditional Chinese).

According to its rank, the most influential blog in Taiwan now is a famous comic blog named 彎彎～用漫畫寫日誌, whose rank in Technorati is 548 (Note: In Technorati, the most recent post indexed in this blog was 256 days ago, in fact, it is updated several times each week).


BlogLook Score and RankAlthough the service is said to only open for blogs in Taiwan, I tried to add CWR, i.e. this blog, as a new blog, and got a rank of 257 (see details in image in the right, it may change as new blogs are added continuously), but it seems that it did not identify subscription data in Bloglines correctly. It said no one subscribe this blog in Bloglines, which is obviously impossible. (See Update at the end of the post)

I think it would be a useful service to evaluate the influence of top blogs in Chinese blogosphere when it extend its service to cover all Chinese blogs. And it will be much useful than Technorati, since Technorati does not index Chinese blogs well. I cannot wait to know who is the top blogger in Chinese blogosphere.

Update: Since it takes more than 2 minutes to fetch data from Bloglines, so Blog Look will only update the subscription data in 2 hours after you add your blogs. CWR’s rank is 64 when I write this update.

    Sorry, I never mention that the number of subcribers in bloglines is more complicate,
    because most of blog has many feed source.
    So it will be updated about 2 hours after your submit.

    So you have to check the bloglines subscription manually or update it automatically in 2 hours?

    to Tangos:
    Sure not, 8 seconds is a maximus browsing waiting time, 1 min is maximus searching and adding waiting time.
    All of other data fetching from other system take less than 1 mins, but the time from bloglines takes more than 2 mins alone, so it run as a background batch every 1 hour, so it will updated in 2 hours at least.

    About 5 month, Blog Look start service the Hongkong and Mainland China.

    But the data in China and HongKong is very limited, it will take weeks to collect data and it will be better a month later.
