Baidu, the most popular search engine in China, rolled out its new design of homepage yesterday. Here are the screenshot of its previous homepage version and existing one. (Also check out Baiduer’s collection of all Baidu’s homepage from 2000 to 2006)

The most important change in this new version is adding links of login and Baidu Space onto homepage. Baidu Space is already one of the top 5 most popular blogging service in China, by adding link of Baidu Space in its homepage, the users of Baidu Space is expected to increase significantly due to the high traffic of Baidu’s search service.
Baidu has many interactive offerings which require users to login to use them, adding login link in homepage also make it more convenient for users to login, it also reflects Baidu’s main objective in 2007 is to integrate its various interactive services and build community based on its core search service. It is also rumored that Baidu will launch its own web IM product soon.
