Baidu Launches Video Search
Baidu launched its new video search service today. Before Baidu, Qihoo and Sina’s iAsk released their own video search in last year. However, iAsk seems only index the videos hosting in Sina’s Video service, therefore it is not a real video search service.
Baidu video search indexes video sharing sites such as Yoqoo, Tudou. I tried several keyword searches, based on my rough observation, most of the results come from Sina, Tudou, 6Rooms, Ku6, Pomoho and Ouou.
Baidu video will search the title and tags of video for the keyword entered by users. Different from webpage of search result of Google Video, Baidu video’s result page is similar to image search. However, Baidu does not offer any option for you to refine the search or change the sort of results.
Based on my rough tests, Baidu video provides more results than Qikoo. But I found unrelevant results in Baidu’s results, and several identical clips in results too. I also chose some clips from the homepage of Yoqoo and Tudou, but I can not find it in Baidu video search.

It provides more descriptions, length of the video and user rating on the original site. In advanced search options, users can focus in certain topic like sports, music, etc. But I assume this relies heavily on the accurateness of the original site. [...]
