Hipihi to Start Second Phase Private Test

Hipihi, China’s virtual world product or China’s Second Life, will roll out their second phase private test soon. As planned, the private test of Hipihi will be separated into four phase. In coming second phase, users are able to customized their personas, that’s why they called this phase “Nuwa Reproduces People“.

Hipihi’s first phase test started over a month ago, about two thousands users were invited to be first batch of citizens in Hipihi World, some of them are really enthusiastic on Hipihi. They create beautiful houses, and organize meetups(see video below), even though Hipihi’s first phase test only provides limited functions.

Now, Hipihi plans to let these passionated users to promote it. All users registered before April 20 will have rights to invite their friends to experience Hipihi World. Yes, I also have 3 invitations to send out to my readers. If you are interested in Hipihi, you can post a comment in this post to leave your understanding of the name “Hipihi”, either in English or Chinese. I will choose three of them to send out invitations.

Update:Due to the problem of email system of Hipihi, Hipihi suggests you do not choose Hotmail or Gmail to receive invitation.

Update2: I have sent out invitation to some commentors, and I may have more invitation from time to time, but you should make sure you know Chinese before you ask me for an invitation.

Uhoh, I hope I am not too late! I would love to have an invite.

I registered quite some time ago, but nobody wants a half German half British guy in there :( (And I study Chinese, so I might even understand :) )

Well, keep up your blog, it’s great.

    Thanks, Oliver

Well, HAPIHI is works as a play off I, Hapi (the phonetic translation to “Happy”, though coincidentally also the name a Harbin Beer (Harbin Pijiu, or Hapi) in China).

It seems the Hapihi VW is definately influenced by the Chinese gaming world, and looks set to be preferably, even only for this feature, than Second life, in China. Second likfe here is slow, so hosting on the mainland will obviously have many speed benifits to local residents. I just hope that multiple languages are supported, as there are plenty of non-chinese speakers in China that would love to utilize this opportunity :)

OK - Well, Good Luck HiPiHi

Hello and greetings .. I have been looking at the new virtual world and it would seem to be very superior to anything else in the market place. I would love to be involved in the testing and trials of theis wonderful new world.

I have been involved and have used many of the exsisting worlds for some time.

Thanks for your blog and the information it provides.

    Hello,

The user interface certainly looks easier than Second Life. It would be interested in seeing how interaction within the spaces would compare. The growth of 3D virtual worlds recently is an exciting thing… I can not wait to see how they progress.

By the way, loosely HiPiHi translates to the happy sound. I would love to join in on testing.

    Take care,
    Rhiannon Chatnoir

Hipihi is no longer by invitation only. I’m enjoying exploring the Hipihi World.

I’m seeking help in getting the Hipihi interface translated into English. It’s hard figuring out things by random clicking when your clicks only produce more dialog boxes that you can’t read. To this end I have create a wiki at http://hipihi.wiki.zoho.com and a Google group at http://groups.google.com/group/hipihi-group . I’m hoping that some people will post their Hipihi experiences and any help with translating the interface they can offer at those sites or at my wordpress blog. I’d also like to to know of any existing sources of information on Hipihi in English.

    Thanks for your time.
