Zhuaxia promote its cartoon subscription widgets: Maybe the standard orange feed icon is too geeky to be understand now, and traditional subscription widget as this one are not attractive to readers. Then Zhuaxia, the most popular Chinese rss reader, decided to promote its cartoon subscription widgets, with the intention to attract more users to add them into their blogs, then promote Zhuaxia reader. The cartoon include popular Spiderman, Superman, horoscope icons and many else. It will make your blog sidebar more vivid. But on the other hand, will this initiative affect the acceptance of standard rss icon among ordinary Chinese netizens?
Lawsuit against GFW: A software developer suit China Telecom because his website is blocked in China for “unaccountable reason” of China Telecom. Obviously the website is not the target of censorship, since it is about a financial software. The trial will be held in Shanghai at 9:00AM May 29th. It should be the first suit case in China against internet censorship.
Netease to officially launch its own search engine: We’ve reported Netease’s search engine, i.e. Yodao.com in last December. according to Netease’s earning call, the search engine will be officially launched in the second half of this year “with a major marketing campaign”. Currently Netease partner with Google in search business, the contract will be terminated then, while Tencent’s Soso.com just added Google’s logo on its search result page last week.
Feedburner withdraw its Chinese version: Feedburner launched its Simplified and Traditional Chinese version last week, however, because of many critiques, Feedburner took back its Chinese version quietly. Feedburner said in its language page, “We heard your feedback and we’re taking it back to the shop for more work. Thanks for having your say!”.
Public Pledge on Self-discipline for Blogging Service: Internet Society of China released a Public Pledge on Self-discipline for Blogging Service, but it does not require blogging service provider to ask their users to register real name for blogging, it just encourage them to do so. So it may mean the proposed blogger real name registration plan was dropped down,

Since Google came to China, to partner with heavy-traffic website has been one of its most important strategy, so Google has cooperated with Netease, QQ and China.com. Though Netease will not renew its cooperation with Google because it will launch its own Yodao search engine, the new partnership with Sina will ensure its traffic and market share will not be affected.
