Ezhun, Online TV Guide, Rolls Out New Version

EzhunBeijing based Ezhun launched about one year ago. It provides an online version of TV program list. Users can browse and set SMS alarm for TV program they want to watch. The new version makes the site cleaner, less cluttered. Thus it will result in more discovery.

Users can first set the city where they are located. Then the program list will show majority channels watched by people in that city. Users can browse the program list via channels, TV stations and categories. This makes TV program traceable again, while the paper version is hard to follow.

When users find program they are interested, they can add it into wishlist, and set the alarm service so that they will be informed via SMS before the program starts. As to program they have watched, they can add comments and upload pictures of the program. They can further save the program into their personal collections, which is called album, and share with others. Users can subscribe to and vote albums.

The service is also providing online streaming videos. This makes lots of TV programs watchable immediately. These videos are from popular video streaming site like UUSee, PPStream and PPLive. Ezhun has just rolled out their own video player PlayEZ. Hopefully this will simplify users’ life to install multiple players.

Ezhun is backed by a Beijing startup called Hengzhun. The community is growing steadily since this year.
