MySpace China to Merge with MSN Live Spaces China (updated)

On the first day when Myspace launched it services in China, everyone asked a question whether Myspace will make it in China. Luo Chuan, CEO of Myspace China, said that Myspace would targeted at silent majority to compete with rivales. Besides it, it seems Luo Chuan has another powerful secret weapon: MSN Live Space China.

Donews reported that MySpace China will merge with MSN Live Spaces China. Luo Chuan, who used to be head of MSN China, will be in charge of the merged business. It is said the deal will be announced on July 26th.

What we can expect from this merge? At least, the merge shows that Myspace China is almost entirely autonomous from Myspace to make its own strategy, which is a good start to compete in Chinese market.

Update: I’m sorry that I haven’t noticed that according to a report in Sina, Luo Chuan has denied the rumor. So Myspace China will NOT merge with MSN Spaces China. Thanks Luyi for pointing out the news in Sina.
