Zhanzuo Acquired Yoolin.com
Zhanzuo.com, one of the Facebook wannabe in China, announced today that it has acquired Yoolin.com, a campus social networking site targeted at Chinese students abroad.
I can not find much information about Yoolin, the about us page has been replaced by information of Zhanzuo. What I can know is Yoolin was established in June 2006 by Chinese students from Standford, UC Berkeley, Harvard and MIT, but according to Alexa data, their traffic has never increased significantly, maybe more people are using Facebook. Besides social networking service, it seems Yoolin used to have a popular Yoolin Radio service, but it has disappeared already.
Zhanzuo will keep Yoolin as a separated site to serve overseas Chinese students, but Zhanzuo has taken over the user registration of Yoolin.
In fact, just one week ago, Xiaonei.com, main rival of Zhanzuo.com, opened its registration to Chinese students abroad. In Chinese market, Xiaonei seems to be more popular than Zhanzuo, will Zhanzuo beat Xiaonei by this acquisition in overseas Chinese students market?
