51ditu To Launch Ads on Map and 3D Earth Product

51ditu51ditu.com, the online map service by Lingtu, will launch a 3D earth product called LTEarth, which will be a Google Earth-like product. According to the copyright notes in LTEarth’s interface, the satellite’s image may come from NASA.

LTEarth now provides features as Google earth, such as fly to your destination by simply search the address, tilt and rotate the view, zoom in and zoom out. You can also see the 3D buildings and terrains on the ground. You need to install LTEarth plugin for IE first, but I just can not make it work in my desktop. If you are interested in it, you can login as a guest to test it now.

LTEarth is the first Chinese online satellite imagery map product, but there is still long long way to go before it can improve its quality to compete with Google Earth.

In the mean time, 51ditu will partner with Longtuo to integrate ads into 51ditu’s map service. There will be pay per call ads on local business search on 51ditu powered by Longtuo’s Dilingling and keyword-based ads on map powered by Longtuo’s Clickeye ads. Both 51ditu and Longtuo are portfolio companies of Gobi Partners.
