Interview with Feedsky Founder Lv Xinxin, Part II

CWR: In our previous profile of Feedsky, we mentioned that Feedsky is more than a Chinese Feedburner, why you will try to develop those features?
Lv: We will continue to expand those social networking features after enhancing our stability significantly in new version. We always believes that feed is accompanied by social networking. Currently, most of the feeds are from blogs, or say bloggers. Blogger integrated read and write web together. They are users of information, as well as disseminator of information. So we will try to explore this market.
CWR: As for cooperation between Feedburner and Bokee, are you worried about the competition from this powerful competitor?
Lv: In fact, we welcome competition. RSS market is huge, not a single company can monopolize this market. So we welcome them, so we together can promote the concept of feed management better. And of course, we also hope we can have opportunities to cooperate, because partnership among best companies is critical in this market.
CWR: What is the future positioning of Feedsky?
Lv: We are definitely a media. But it is not convenient to disclose more details now.
CWR: Have you raised funding?
Lv: We are negotiating the first-round investment, and I believe it will soon closed. We also welcome those interested VCs to contact us.
CWR: What’s your business model?
Lv: Feedsky will focus on advertising and wireless service. And we will also keep eyes on development of the market and explore other models.
CWR: Feedsky’s RSS advertising service will be open for test. What’s your opinion on development of RSS advertising market in China?
Lv: It is still a blank market in China, maybe no competitor will enter this market in short time.
CWR: Besides Joyo, who is your partners to promote RSS advertising?
Lv: We also cooperate with NarrowAd (Note: a China’s Google Adsense like online contextual advertising agency) and other online advertising firms as well. Later we will announce a partnership with a well know foreign RSS company to work together on RSS advertising.
CWR: What’s your favorite Chinese web2.0 services?
Lv: If excluding Feedsky, it should be Douban, and I loves 365kit too.
CWR: What do you think are the most important features of web2.0?
Lv: Decentralization and microcontent.
