Baidu Invested A Video Ads Service Provider

AdsItAdsIt, an online video ads service provider, announced it received several million USD investment from Baidu, Intel Capital and Farallon Capital. A report of 21st Century Business Herald said the investment is about $4-6 million.

Baidu TVActually, AdsIt has a strong partnership with Baidu, it is the exclusive operator of video ads of Baidu, or Baidu TV. Baidu TV now offer three types of video ads: floating video ads, which is a video ads floating over the corner of webpages you visit; embedded video ads, which is embedded into webpages, just similar to those flash ads; and streaming video ads, which shows ads before the online video clips you are about to watch. The video ads will shown either on Baidu or on Baidu’s affiliated websites.

Based on the report, the ads will be related to the webpage or videos, and targeted to visitors based on their demographic data and geographic data.

We all knows there are several hundred video sharing sites based on online advertising business model in China, but only the leading players, such as Tudou, will be able to sell advertisements by themselves. The ads before video clips offered by Baidu TV may be a more feasible option to generate some revenue, at least to cover some of huge bandwidth expense.
