Netease Updates Homepage To Promote Home-Made Search Engine, Yodao Launches RSS Reader
CnBeta is reporting that Netease has a new homepage. The change is Yodao becomes the official search engine of the site. We have reported the replacement of the search engine in July, but it’s common to launch multiple times in nowadays.
Over on Yodao’s homepage, it claims to be out of beta. And now it integrates all kinds of services from Netease. It surely learned a lot from Google.
Under the search box, I found Yodao Reader. I don’t know when it launched, but it should be new. It cannot beat Google Reader yet. My five-minute playing shows it’s fast, stable and Ajax-powered.
Update: It turns out Yodao News Search is also new. Like Google News and Baidu News, it generates headlines automatically. This is an area that browsing is more important than search. Since Baidu News is one of the Chinese services I actually use. I will definitely give Yodao a try later.

[…] All of which may bring some changes to the Chinese search market where Baidu is in a massive lead with Google - this is an unusual experience of that continuously booming company — trailing along in the rear. If Google is now beaten by Yodao then Google will be sending messages to its subsidiary in China that it is not happy, not happy at all. Source: China Web 2.0 […]
