Douban Testing New API, But We Want More

DoubanDouban has rolled out a new set of API several days ago. Originally it has limited types of feeds called Douban Service. Now you can play with it further with either server or client side scripts.

My take? Too simple. They are all about GET. We want PUT, DELETE and POST.

If you are rolling out a set of API all about GET, why not make your search feature as flexible as possible and provides feeds?

Two years ago, we would say “Great Mashup”. But now we should admit that mashup has no value if it doesn’t solve problems.

That said, the new API is still too simple to be useful, but certainly it’s a good starting point.
